The Department has overall supervision that the Administration's operations are conducted in a fair and safe manner. Furthermore, Legal Affairs is responsible department for dealing with constitutional issues that do not belong to any other department. The Department assists the rest of the organization in legal matters including the Parliamentary Ombudsman and the Office of the Chancellor of Justice affairs and the Swedish Maritime Administration's case to court. The Department includes the registry and archives group.
