The Infrastructure Department is tasked with concretising needs and stipulate requirements for products and services related to fairways and navigation systems, icebreaking, hydrographical information, maritime traffic information, pilotage and search and rescue, aimed at attaining the objectives that apply to the Swedish Maritime Administration.
Infrastructure is also in charge of issues related to social and transport planning, contingency planning for maritime transports and environmental policy.
The department will initiate the procurement and tendering of a strategic nature, monitor and initiate technological development and research issues.
