South Coast Maritime Traffic Area
The Swedish Maritime Administration, South Coast Maritime Traffic Area, offer you well-trained pilots for safe and cost-effective transit through the Swedish part of the Sound and Deep Sea Pilotage to all ports in the Baltic Sea, Kattegat and Skagerrak. Harbour pilotage is offered to all ports in the South Coast Maritime Traffic Area and some additional ports on the east coast (read more under "Pilotage").

Water area of the South Coast Maritime Traffic Area
From border to East Coast Maritime Traffic Area (along latitude 58° 00,0 N to position 58° 00’ N, 018° 06’ E continuing south southwest to position 56° 40’ N, 017° 15’ E and further on in direction 090°) to a straight line at the coast and boarder between the counties Skåne and Halland to position 56° 31’ N, 012° 48’ E continuing in direction 270° at sea. Not Lake Vättern.
Area of Malmö Pilot station
Water area between latitude 55° 25' N in the bay Hanöbukten and latitude 55° 47' N in the Sound (Öresund). Deep Sea Pilot and transit through the Sound from the south.
Area of Helsingborg Pilot station
Water area between latitude 55° 47' N and 56° 30' N.
Deep Sea Pilot and transit through the Sound from north.
Area of Karlshamn/Åhus Pilot stations
Water area between a straight line at Brömse 56° 19' N 016° 03' E in direction 155° and latitude 55° 25' N.
Area of Kalmar Pilot station
Water area between a straight line along latitude 58° 00,0 N to Brömse 56° 19' N 016° 03' E in direction riktning 155° and island Öland but not Gotland.
Shore area of the South Coast Maritime Traffic Area
The counties of Jönköping, Kalmar, Kronoberg, Blekinge and Skåne.
