When you are out at sea on a boat, you must always be ready for the unexpected. Anyone can run into a problem that requires the MRCC to search for you. Your relatives on land may also need to get in touch with you.
For those reasons, you should fill out this ID card with information about your boat, equipment, insurance and you personally. It is a good idea to put a picture of the boat on the back of the card. Make sure the information is available through a relative, neighbour, or another person who can refer to the ID card to answer the JRCC’s questions.
