There is no VTS area within the Vanern Pilot Area.
No vessel traffic service (VTS) is provided and there is no maritime reporting system (statute SJÖFS 2008:80).
Reporting shall be done to nearest bridge and lock according to Swedish Maritime Administration regulation SJÖFS 1993:28.
Continuous surveillance on VHF
During navigation in the Trollhätte canal, watch must be kept on VHF-radio channel 9 and if possible channel 16. This is not applicable for leisure craft under 25 meter in length.
