Swedish Seamen’s Library
The Swedish Seamen’s Library was founded in 1930 and has been roaming the Seven Seas ever since then as a circulating library. The headquarters is at Rosenhill Seamen’s Center in Göteborg. Books may also be obtained or exchanged in some 20 other ports on four continents (see Bokbytesstationer under Sjömansbiblioteket, the text in Swedish about the library). Besides the main part of books in Swedish, a considerable selection of books in English are available for crewmembers of Swedish vessels. There are also some audio books in English (see Ljudböcker under Sjömansbiblioteket). Nowadays, the library is part of the Swedish Seamen’s Service.
