General summary and statistics of SAR operations 2010

1 105 SAR operations were carried out during 2010. In 1 049 of these, search and rescue units were dispatched. 78 SAR operations were handled without activating any search and rescue units.

JRCC  (Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre) was also giving support to SAR services in adjacent countries and to national rescue services. Medical advice between vessels and medical doctors at the Tele Medical Advice Service (TMAS) in Göteborg were relayed at 533 occasions in 2010.
