Those who in the course of a given calendar year have received hazardous and noxious substances which have been transported in bulk by sea shall, by March 1 of the following year, provide information on the quantity of substances received to the Swedish Maritime Administration.

These substances are primarily various kinds of chemicals, oil, liquefied natural gas (LNG) and liquified petroleum gas (LPG). Except in the case of liquefied natural gas, this obligation shall apply only to those who have received substances of a certain quantity. Whosoever has received liquefied natural gas shall be required to disclose this regardless of the quantity received.

The first reporting to the Swedish Maritime Administration will therefore occur in 2020, and work to produce a list of the recipients concerned is currently underway.

We ask that those affected (or who believe they may be affected) by the reporting obligation please contact Emelie Angberg emelie.angberg@sjofartsverket.se, who will be managing the reporting. In the course of 2019, the Swedish Maritime Administration will provide additional information to the recipients concerned.
