New SMS solution for reporting to SafeSeaNet
Swedish Maritime Administration have implemented a new SMS solution for the reporting of ATA (Actual Time of Arrival) and ATD (Actual Time of Departure) times in SafeSeaNet.
The solution will be evaluated during the next few months. If you have any questions about this information or feedback on how the service works for you please let us know.
How the service works:
You can update the ATA or ATD on a previously reported notification by simply sending an SMS with the correct code to the Swedish Maritime Administration. In order to be able to update a notification you need to have the correct PortVisitID.
Note: The SMS message cannot contain any information other than the correct codes, described below.
Note: As per EMSA regulation, ATA and ATD can only be reported once and not altered once reported. This service is therefore only available if you have not previously reported ATA/ATD.
SMS number: +46 730 12 15 97
|
SMS Message ATA (Actual Time of Arrival) |
Explanation |

ATA will be set to the time when the SMS message was sent. |
|
PortVisitID TIME (Example: 6AE09A9 2300) |
ATA will be set to 23:00. |
PortVisitID A (Example: 6AE09A9 A) |
ATA will be set to the time when the SMS message was sent. |
PortVisitID A 2300 (Example: 6AE09A9 A 2300) |
ATA will be set to 23:00. |
|
SMS Message ATD (Actual Time of Departure) |
Explanation |
PortVisitID D (Example: 6AE09A9 D) |
ATD will be set to the time when the SMS message was sent. |
PortVisitID D 2300 (Example: 6AE09A9 D 2300) |

|
Time is written in 24-hour format. Time can be written as 2300 or 23:00. Please note that you need space between the "ID" "A/D" and "Time".
If you write for example in 2300 at 0100 the following day, the date will be automatically set to the day before, this to minimize what needs to be written. |
After sending an SMS you will receive a text message reply, which means that you will not have to check in the system if the time is updated.
We are continuously increasing our efforts to implement other solutions to facilitate the reporting, these will be announced accordingly.
