Pilot Boarding

Pilot boarding procedures in pilot area Gävle.

All ships using pilotservice provided by the Swedish Maritime Administration are requested to have pilot ladders rigged in strict accordance with SOLAS and International Marine Pilots Association (refer IMPA Pilot Ladder Arrangement Plan) requirements. 

Where the vessel's freeboard exceeds 9 metres, requiring a combination pilot ladder arrangement.

Vessel must keep speed accoring to instructions from the pilot boat and make a good lee.

The pilot ladder to be put 2 metres above water level if nothing else is informed.
