Rights of use
Maritime geographic information is protected by the law (1960:729) on copyright for literary and artistic works. This means that permission is required from the Swedish Maritime Administration to disseminate or publish the information.
When is a publication permit needed?
Permission is required if you wish to show a section of a chart or other maritime geographic information on the web or intend to produce your own map using the chart information as a base/template. This is also the case if you want to use maritime geographic material in books, information brochures, or promotional products.
