Tugboat restrictions
Port of Oxelösund
Tugboat restrictions concerning vessels under pilotage for ports of Oxelösund
General restrictions
Below restrictions account for normal current and up to a maximum wind of 8 m/s. If wind and/or current is above these limits, additional tugboats may be required. If there are any doubts, call Pilot Ordering Centre for clarification.
The pilot always has the final say and will discuss with the Master, whether a transit or maneuver can be done safely.
A tugboat with a barge of “pusher” type, are considered as a normal vessel and the entire length of both tug and barge are included.
A tugboat with a tow, must always use an additional tugboat for maneuvering, regardless of size.
Vessels frequently calling port of Oxelösund, may after an initial call (in/out) to the port under pilotage and where the pilots approve, apply for an exemption through the CLO in the area.
If a single tugboat is required, it must be of ASD type.
When pilot is ordered, quantities and type of tugboats shall be entered.
