Sea Traffic Management
Sea Traffic Management (STM) enables optimized port calls, real-time information sharing between ships and ports or land centers (for example, traffic coordination and rescue management).
STM also contributes to an improved common situation awareness in shipping. New digitized services enables more port calls to be "just in time" and safer, more efficient and more environmentally friendly shipping.
The Swedish Maritime Administration has a long experience of international development. The STM work builds on previous work, like the standardisation and implementation of AIS globally.
