Pilotage areas
Sweden is divided into pilotage areas. Here you will find more information about each area.
Pilot area Gävle
The Gävle Pilotage Area includes the ports of Gävle, Söderhamn, Hudiksvall, Sundsvall and Härnösand, as well as the Ångerman River.
Pilot area Göteborg
The pilotage area includes the Port of Gothenburg as far as Hisingsbron, as well as ports and anchorages in the northern and southern Gothenburg archipelago. It also includes transit pilotage to the Göta River, the Trollhätte Canal and ports on Lake Vänern.
Pilotage Area Kalmar
The pilotage area offers pilotage services through the Kalmar Strait, open sea pilotage to and from all ports in the Baltic Sea, the Kattegat and the Skagerrak, as well as pilotage services to all ports within the Kalmar pilotage area.
Pilotage Area Luleå
Welcome to the Luleå Pilotage Area. We provide pilotage services to, among others, the ports of Luleå, Piteå, Skellefteå, Rundvik, Husum and Örnsköldsvik.
Pilotage Area Malmö
The pilotage area offers pilotage services through the Öresund Strait, open sea pilotage to and from all ports in the Baltic Sea, the Kattegat and the Skagerrak, as well as pilotage services to all ports within the Malmö pilotage area.
Pilotage Area Marstrand
The pilotage area covers the municipalities of Kungälv (excluding the Nordre River and the Göta River), Stenungsund, Orust, Uddevalla, Lysekil, Sotenäs, Munkedal, Tjörn, Tanum and Strömstad in Västra Götaland County.
Pilotage Area Oxelösund
The Oxelösund Pilotage Area covers fairways and ports from south of Trosa to just south of Valdemarsvik.
Pilotage Area Stockholm
The Stockholm Pilotage Area is located between the Gävle and Södertälje pilotage areas and covers fairways and ports from south of Gävle to Nynäshamn.
Pilotage Area Vänern
The Vänern Pilotage Area covers Lake Vänern and the Göta River, including the Trollhätte Canal, as well as the Byälven River, including the Säffle Canal.
