Awarded photos 2023

130 seafarers participated with a total of 819 entries in the Nordic Photo Contest for Seafarers 2023. This shows a great commitment and the organizers hope that the contest has contributed to a more meaningful time on board.

Jörgen Språng won both the Swedish and Nordic competition with this photo.

75 pictures were up for judgement and only five winners about to be chosen when the Nordic Photo Contest for Seafarers 2023 had its final, on February 2 2024. The organizers and the jury gathered on the museum ship Icebreaker Sankt Erik in Stockholm. This year, the jury consisted of Anneli Karlsson, photographer at The National Maritime Museum and Mikael Dunker, communicator at The Museum of Wrecks.

Pretty soon in the process, the two judges found a common favorite and when they presented their selection it was clear that winning picture came from Jörgen Språng, Bitflower. Språng was also responsible for the entries on second and third place, while the fourth and fifth place went to Norway and photographers Håkon Sunde and Rune Larsen.
